Faculty of Social Sciences

Courses

study iconThe Faculty of Social Sciences is one of the largest and most diverse in Europe. We have seven different academic schools, with teaching and research spanning a wide range of topics, theories and methods of analysis.

Our courses are delivered by some of the brightest minds in their fields and shaped by the latest ground-breaking research.

Postgraduate Certificate Education (International) (PGCEi)

Our PGCEi improves professional practice for established international educators whose career development would benefit from a specialist teaching qualification. We run cohorts in a variety of locations, some in conjunction with local facilitators.

It definitely helps with educators who are willing and want to work internationally. The study builds a strong theoretic base and has many thought-provoking and reflection-triggering readings and videos. It also offers great real-life connections to your students. I am absolutely an even better teacher after successfully navigating this course.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) MA – Global pathways

You can choose to study our MA TESOL on one of our ‘global routes’. These routes offer a blended approach to studying teaching English, by providing the flexibility to combine studying face-to-face on the UK or Malaysia campus, with online study.

Distance learning courses

Online learning offers the flexibility to study in the way that's convenient for the student. With access to learning materials at any time, anywhere in the world, students are not restricted by fixed lecture times, library opening hours or even access to a university campus.
