Undergraduate Research Excellence Day (U-RED)
The Undergraduate Research Excellence Day (U-RED) is a celebration of the exceptional dissertation research produced by final year undergraduate students of the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Nottingham.
This event showcases the talent and research skills of our students across all degree programmes and it is an opportunity to bring the whole learning community together to recognise their achievements.
U-RED offers little bit for everyone. Final year undergraduate students have the chance to practice public speaking and to share their research findings as well as reflect on their dissertation journeys. Second year undergraduate students have the chance to find out what the dissertation is about, get ideas for their future projects, chat to students who have just been through it and to prospective supervisors.
Similarly, first years can get a head start on their ideas and prepare for research methods modules. Postgraduate taught and research students, staff, family and friends get to celebrate with final year students and find out more about the amazing research they have done over the past year.
U-RED22
U-RED22 took place on Tuesday 31 May 2022.
We celebrated the amazing research carried out by our third year students for their dissertations.
We heard directly from our third years themselves about their fascinating dissertation topics and journeys. There were several sessions on a range of criminology, sociology and social policy topics on the day so that there was something for everyone’s interests and lots of inspiration and tips for those yet to embark on the dissertation.
