Before you arrive
Getting prepared for practice with your DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
An important part of your social work education is undertaking practice placements. Everybody working with vulnerable children and adults is required to have a DBS check before starting this work.
Before you arrive for your first week, it might be helpful for you to read through this Applicant User Guide so that you are aware of the documents you might require to make this application. Full guidance and support will be provided by our team to help you with your application.
Bringing the correct documents
In order to obtain your DBS, you will need to bring a range of ID documents. We will need to see these documents and approve these when you arrive. View the full list of approved documents to check your ID.
Bring the correct documents with you to Welcome Week
Please have a look in advance at this list and bring the required documents with you to your induction week to make sure that you can attend your placement without any disruptions.
