Anthony Eyre Esq. was the only son of Gervase Eyre Esq., of Newbold in Derbyshire and Kiveton in Yorkshire, and his wife Mary Nevile. He was 9 years old in 1585.
He was later the owner of an estate at Laughton en le Morthen in south Yorkshire. Through his second marriage to Mary Babington he acquired a moiety of the manor of Rampton in Nottinghamshire.
He married 1stly Anne (d 1608), daughter of John Markham of Sedbrough, Lincolnshire, and had:
