University shows its power at BUCS Powerlifting

15 University of Nottingham Powerlifting athletes competed at the 2023 BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Powerlifting Championships at the start of the month, and produced some excellent performances. 8 female and 7 male athletes travelled to Moulton College in Northampton for the event, looking to continue the clubs incredible form.

Canoe Sprint is the newest addition to the BUCS canoe competition calendar, with the first event taking place in Norwich on the weekend of the 18 and 19 March. the University of Nottingham contingent of athletes had high hopes for the meeting as the Nottingham team would consist of many GB U23 and Senior athletes.

For the third year in a row University of Nottingham Karate club won the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Karate Championships with a record medal haul, and also broke the record for the most BUCS points scored with 143.

After a very successful Winter Championships in February, University of Nottingham Taekwondo club travelled to Wales for the BUCS Spring Championships at the end of March. At the two day competition over the weekend of 25 and 26 March, the club entered athletes across many classes and disciplines, and came away with medals in all!

Trampolining club reach new heights at BUCS championships

Description
The University of Nottingham Trampolining club has 40 active members, and 12 of those 40 were selected from trials to compete at the BUCS Trampoline & DMT Championships in Birmingham. Competing in 3 disciplines (Trampoline, DMT and Synchro), the club were successful in each, gaining 12 medals over the course of the weekend.

After a hugely successful performance at the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Indoor Archery championships in 2022, the #GreenandGold entered the 2023 tournament hoping for a similar outcome. Travelling to the University of Warwick on March 18, the University of Nottingham once again had entrants across a number of disciplines.

Patrick Foley has experienced plenty of success during his time at the University of Nottingham, but has never quite been able to claim gold. However, that all changed on the 19th March when Patrick's performances at the 2023 BUCS Tennis Individual Championships earned him the Men's Singles title, and a BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) gold medal.

Scholar In Focus: TJ Summers

Description
Along with his men's lacrosse team mates TJ Summers is just one victory away from being a #GreenandGold National Champion with his team having earned a place at BUCS Big Wednesday. Despite having only arrived in the UK last September as a sports scholar, TJ is now hugely invested in the University of Nottingham having studied at the Faculty of Business, as well as become an integral part of the men's lacrosse first team.
