Sustainability Fair, 4 May 2023

Join us to raise awareness of sustainable initiatives across the university and Nottingham city. Find out from the Sustainability Team what the university is doing to address sustainability and environmental issues, and how you can be involved taking action against climate change. We will also be selling university honey from beehives located on Kings Meadow Campus and Bunny Park Sutton Bonington.

Find out what we have planned below:

 

ENVA

Come along for free ‘Coffee and a Chat’ with ENVA, our waste contractors. Let them know your waste concerns and any questions about waste and recycling around campus.

If you can, bring your reusable coffee cup!

BHF PackForGood

The British Heart Foundation will be talking about their Pack Fod Good campaign encouraging staff and students to donate unwanted items such as clothes, electricals, books and furntiture.

Hedgehog Friendly Campus Group

Litter pick: University Park 12:30pm – 1:30pm Meeting at the top of Portland steps, on Portland Terrace.

Join the Hedgehog Friendly Campus group to help clean up campus, making it safer for our hedgehogs and other wildlife.

Litter pickers, gloves and bags will be provided but do try to wear appropriate clothing.

Dr Bike Drop-In

Dr Bike is our free on-site bike maintenance service open to all UoN staff and students. The Dr Bike mechanic can check and make minor repairs on your bikes and any parts needed are free as well.

This session will be a Drop-In event, so come along anytime between: 10am – 2pm.

Nottingham Bikeworks

Nottingham Bikeworks are a local not-for-profit community enterprise and will be joining the Dr Bike mechanics with a re-furbished second hand bike sale.

With prices starting from £80, riding a bike will help you travel to campus sustainably and save some money too.

The sale will begin @ 10am.

Lime

Lime have launched their new E-bike hire in Nottingham City including sites across University Park and Jubilee Campus.

Lime will be giving you the opportunity to demo one of their E-bikes and answering any questions.

Speak to NET about their travel offers, as well as news and insights information about the tram network.
