Create Growth

Create Growth N2 (CGN2) offers creative, digital and creative technology businesses based in Nottingham, unique programs and access to a wide range of specialised business support.

The CGN2 program is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and is supported by Nottingham Trent University, the University of Nottingham, Innovate UK, Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, and NBV Enterprise Solutions.

Sectors create growth cover

The Create Growth programme covers a wide range of sectors within the creative, digital and creative technology space including:

  • Advertising and Marketing
  • Architecture
  • Crafts
  • Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design
  • Film, Video , Broadcast, and Photography
  • IT, Software, Computer Services, FinTech, and Data Analysis
  • Game Development, Animation, and Immersive Technology
  • Writing and Publishing
  • Museums, Galleries, and Libraries
  • Music, Performing, and Visual Arts

Eligibility

  • Your business must be based in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire.
  • Your business must operate in the Creative, Digital, or Creative Technology sector.
  • Must have been trading for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Must be generating turnover.
  • Have a minimum of two employees (this includes freelancers).

Here are a few examples of previous events hosted by the VIP Studio and partners.

GLOW Event: Trailblazers: Advancing Virtual and Immersive Technologies

  • Date: 19 March
  • Time: 4 to 6pm

This online event is an ‘in conversation’ session with Sarah Atkinson and three women featured in the Glow exhibition who have each contributed to significant advances in immersive and virtual production technologies - Rebecca Allen, Margaret Minsky, Donna Cox. We will explore their early work, their impact and their legacy within our current creative innovation landscape. 

GLOW Event: Critical Curatorial Practices

This online session will include contributions from influential women curators and creative producers from distinct areas of creative practice - games, art virtual reality and immersive media. 

Immersive Storytelling and Climate Realities

  • Date: 2 April

Join an incredible line-up of panellists from across the world of digital art, XR, film, climate storytelling and more, to discuss and debate what it really means to think about immersive storytelling and climate realities.

GLOW Event: Inclusive and Sustainable Futures: Spotlight on the Virtual & Immersive Production Studio

  • Date: 3 April
  • Time: 3 to 6pm
  • Location: Bush House, London

This interactive session will present the work in progress outcomes of four residencies taking place at the research and innovation incubation space at the University of Nottingham's Virtual and Immersive Production Studio - each exploring the capabilities of the popular and powerful new technologies shaping immersive production.
