Postgraduate Certificate Education (International) (PGCEi)

children's hands holding a model of a globeThe PGCEi focuses on improving professional practice for international educators through critical reflection and research. You will compare teaching approaches in different countries and develop a global approach to education.

If you love teaching and want to improve your career prospects, the PGCEi is for you. It does not matter what age or subject you teach – the course is relevant to all curricula and phases.

The PGCEi is a Level 7 qualification on the UK National Qualifications Framework and carries 60 CATS points.

The PGCEi is a blended course with an in-person induction followed by asynchronous online learning. The course starts with an induction which is usually held in the country you apply for. However, we also offer a fully online cohort where your induction will take place online. This will be timed sessions with your cohort participants and university tutors, just the same as an in-person induction.

You are welcome to apply for any cohort but please ensure the dates/timings/location of the induction sessions suit you as it is compulsory that you attend these sessions.

Following your induction, you will continue to learn online and interact with tutors and other students in an immersive digital environment throughout the course in groups and on a one-to-one basis. These meetings will support your engagement with expert-taught course content over the 12 months of this part-time programme.

Join our LinkedIn group for PGCEi students and alumni so we can keep in touch after the course and continue to share news and events that may be of interest to you. It also provides you the opportunity to discuss educational issues and network with educators across the globe.
