Become a Facilitator
We welcome enquiries from organisations wishing to become facilitators.
The role of a facilitator on the PGCEi course is to recruit a cohort of 25 students, all ready to start at the same time, and in collaboration with the University, manage the admissions process.
At the start of the course, you will take responsibility for the organisation of the introductory week which takes place in the students' own country and which students are required to attend.
Once the course has started you will manage administrative and personal issues involved in the students' progression. You will need to organise regular meetings with small groups of students, based on an agreed schedule of course-related topics, reporting back any significant matters which arise to the tutorial team in Nottingham.
The facilitator's role is not therefore purely administrative, but neither is it to tutor or mentor on an individual basis. It involves troubleshooting, on behalf of both students and tutors, and the general monitoring of student progress. Responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning is solely the responsibility of the University of Nottingham.
