Interactivity: case study

Bonnie has always looked older than she is and is physically well developed for her age. She has been raised by her father since her mother died of cancer 5 years ago. Her academic progress at primary school was good. She started secondary school 4 weeks ago and although she doesn't seem to belong to a particular friendship group, has quickly demonstrated how articulate and creative she is in lessons.

Her father, Ivan, has recently started his first new relationship since his wife's death. Keeley is 23 and the daughter of a neighbour.

Dad knows that Bonnie spends a lot of time online, but doesn't know who she talks to. Ivan thinks this has increased since he began seeing Keeley, although Keeley says this is what all girls of Bonnie's age do.

She's been absent from school for an entire week since rumours spread that she sent an intimate picture of herself to another girl. For the last 2 nights she hasn't come home until after 11.00 p.m. and when she did return she angrily refused to talk with Dad and went straight to bed. Ivan indicates that he did not know that he should have called the police.
