Four principles

Practice effectively

Imagine yourself as one of the student nurses in the first film.  Peer pressure and friendship might lead to reluctance to challenge poor practice.  Do you need friends who behave like this? What would you do as a student and as a registered nurse if you witnessed this kind of behaviour in your peers?

The general public have a right to expect appropriate and effective communication and actions.  Student nurses and registered nurses are required to communicate and behave appropriately at all times.  The second film reflects good practice.  The subtle, but thoughtful actions of the student nurses in this clip sends a powerful message to the general public about professional duty of care.
