Research partnerships

In addition to our international teaching and learning activities, we have created, or are partners in a number of international research collaborations with overseas institutions, government, NGOs, industries and charities.

Synthetic Biology and Industrial Biotechnology

SynBioProfessor Nigel Minton, Director of the Synthetic Biology Research Centre (SBRC), heads up our multidisciplinary research activities in industrial biotechnology including techniques in green chemistry, biology and computational sciences. SBRC have collaborations with academic groups around the world including leading synbio and industrial biotechnology groups in Brazil, China, India, the USA, New Zealand and across Europe.

Brazil-Nottingham Partnership in Drug Discovery

Professor Steve Hill and Dr Maria Arruda head up a transatlantic partnership in drug discovery between institutions and universities in Brazil and the UK. The 10-year partnership funded by CAPES in Brazil and the MRC and British Council Newton Fund in the UK delivers training and research collaborations in relation to drug discovery.
