The Poll Book contains reports on the speeches delivered prior to the nomination of the Earl of Lincoln and T.B.T. Hildyard for the election held at Newark-on-Trent, on the 24th and 25th of February 1846. It also gives a full account of the events of the election, and details of election addresses made by the candidates.
It goes on to include a list of the poll, arranged into the various districts. Within the districts, the names are arranged alphabetically by the surname of the person voting.
