Biography

Vasileios Georgopoulos is an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner and Research Fellow for the Pain Centre of the University of Nottingham. Has professional experience in the UK and overseas with a demonstrated history of working in pain management and in rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. Skilled in Pain Testing, Pain Neuroscience Education, Manual Therapy, Exercise Prescription and Injection Therapy. Was recently awarded his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) that focused in Pain Mechanisms and their association with Self-Management of Chronic Low Back Pain. He has also successfully completed a Master's degree in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation, focusing on Manual Therapy.

Expertise Summary

Vasileios Georgopoulos qualified as a physiotherapist in Greece. After he practiced for a few years, he moved to the UK to undertake post-graduate studies in manual therapy and advanced neuromusculoskeletal practice, which he completed in 2015 and was awarded an MSc in Manual Therapy as well as membership with the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapist. He has since worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist both for the NHS and private healthcare practices. In 2020, he completed his PhD on low back pain. Recently, he has been working as a clinician-academic for the University of Nottingham and local community pain services.
