After the sky appeared red earlier this week, the nmRC's Dr Beth Steer collected dust particles from her car windscreen to take a look at them under a scanning electron microscope (SEM). She was able to look at the particles at the micrometre length scale that arrived from the Sahara by the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia.
