On Wednesday 18th November, the nmRC hosted a welcome event for the new cohort of students in the Low-Dimensional Materials and Interfaces Doctoral Training Programme (LDMI DTP) in Cripps South Building, University Park.
The event was led by Professor Neil Champness, director of the DTP, who gave an overview of the programme, which is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Professor Andrei Khlobystov spoke about the background to the nmRC and Professor Paul Brown delivered a presentation on the training series students will attend and provided a background to the history of microscopy. The students, supervisors and staff at the nmRC networked over tea and coffee.
