MakerSpace
Platform leaders: Dr. Jonathan Atkinson and Dr. Darren Wells
The MakerSpace is an innovation hub designed to support research at the University of Nottingham. The main function of the MakerSpace is to support plant phenotyping research by allowing us to design and deploy custom solutions to research problems. This is part of the approach we call “integrated phenomics” to build systems that monitor plant growth and development. This involves designing all aspects of the phenomics pipeline to answer our specific questions. The MakerSpace allows us to design and build bespoke hardware for individual experiments and by adopting flexible designs, to re-purpose equipment as our needs change.
