In a collaboration with a number of industry partners (led by Environmental Process Systems Ltd) Nottingham University researchers from Faculties or Engineering and Medicine and Health Sciences are developing a self-sterilising desiccant mask, called 'SterilMask' using highly efficient desiccant material for continuous sterilisation without damaging the mask's filtration capability and breathability. This simple technology could provide an additional layer of defence against COVID-19 and future pandemics.
