Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre holds successful launch and awareness event

Post

Patients and families, academics and a variety of people with an interest in breast cancer attended the day. Among the guests, we were very lucky to have the Mayor and Mayoress of Nottingham and Maggie Throup MP for Erewash.

The event consisted of two days of enlightening discussions at the Medical School, QMC.

  • Day One was our public event, patients gave heartfelt, motivational talks about their journeys and experiences with breast cancer and breast cancer researchers gave general overviews of their work and the progress that is being made.
  • Day Two was our research awareness event with presentations from our guest speaker, Adrian Harris (University of Oxford), Rhianna from Novartis Pharmaceuticals and breast cancer researchers and clinicians. The day was attended by academics, clinicians, radiologists, nurses and students.

We made front-page news in the Nottingham Post and featured in East Midlands Today.

Thank you to everyone for your support, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
