If you are studying in two departments for your degree, you are a joint honours student. Here are some extra things you need to know.
Induction timetables will be available in early September
Make sure you check the timetables for both of your departments and attend as many events as possible for both, particularly the main induction talks.
In case of scheduling conflicts, give priority to the lead department's schedule.
How is my degree organised?
You study an equal amount of credits in each department. However, for administrative purposes, one of the departments is classed as the ‘lead’. Your personal tutor will be in the lead department. In your other department, you will be assigned a joint honours liaison tutor, who will be a contact for any issues relating to that side of your degree.
English are the ‘lead’ for joint honours degrees with History and Classics. For all other English joint honours programmes, the other department is the ‘lead.
