Piyali Mitra

Piyali Mitra is an effective leader with c. 20+ years of experience in planning and executing complex corporate development and strategy projects. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002, Piyali has worked across Investment Banking advisory in Mumbai, New York with Citigroup, and the last 12+ years in wider leadership roles in London. Piyali started the London leg of her career at RBS in 2008 in their Strategy and Corporate Development working on complex Restructuring projects with the backdrop of the financial crisis and Regulatory scrutiny. In 2015, Piyali joined UBS Investment Banking as an Executive Director advising UK Financial Institutions. In September 2016, Piyali Mitra joined Barclays as a Director in Group Strategy team where she worked on complex restructuring as well as topline revenue generation projects. In December 2018, Piyali was promoted to Managing Director and took on a new role within Group Technology as PODs Global Programme lead.

In August 2021, Piyali took on her first board position joining the Council of University of Nottingham.

Piyali’s brand is complex problem solving, backed by thorough analysis, strategic thinking and a client/shareholder mind-set. An influencer, mentor and a keen collaborator, she is comfortable challenging the status quo to deliver the right outcome.
