Nottingham boxers go the distance at the 2024 BUCS Championships

Description
The University of Nottingham were represented by six athletes at the 2024 BUCS Boxing Championships at the start of February. Our boxers fought through different rounds with the aim of becoming national champion in their weight and category, delivering fantastic performances along the way.

The Ghana Youth Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of young Ghanaian's – from creatives to politics, and including sport. University of Nottingham student and fencer Kelsey Woname won Sports Personality of the Year at the 2023 awards.

The 2024 BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Gymnastics Championships took place on the weekend of the 4th and 5th of February, with plenty of University of Nottingham Gymnastics Club athletes making the short trip to New College Leicester to represent the university.

Scholar In Focus: Niall Treacy

Short Track Speed Skater and University of Nottingham Sport scholar Niall Treacy has started 2024 in magnificent fashion by claiming a top-three finish and medal at the European Short Track Championships, which resulted in him also receiving national recognition from TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) who recently crowned him TASS athlete of the month for January. We were delighted to catch-up with Niall to discuss his recent success, but also find out more about his time at the University of Nottingham.

Applications are now open to join the Intramural Sport Exec roles for 2024/25 academic year.The University of Nottingham's Intramural Sport (IMS) programme is one of the largest in the country. Every year over 3,500 students take part in our leagues and one-day tournaments in 13 different sports. Competitive, social and all based on campus IMS is a great way to stay fit and meet new people.

Green and Gold Dominate 2023 BUCS Table Tennis Championships

Description
The University of Nottingham had the pleasure of hosting the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Table Tennis Individual National Championship last month. Over the weekend of the 17th to the 19th of November, the University of Nottingham was excited to welcome universities from across the country across the weekend, as a huge 332 competitors took part in the men's singles with 136 in the women's singles.
