RLO: Why do we need confidentiality?
Dilemma 1
It is not always easy to decide which pieces of information should be shared. Consider the following:
The GP knows that the absent father is HIV positive. To the best of the GP's knowledge, neither the social worker nor the health visitor are aware of this. It is also possible that Ms X is unaware.
In these particular circumstances, should the GP share this information with the following, and why?
(a) Ms X
(b) the health visitor
(c) the social worker
