| AUDIT-C | Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test for Consumption, this is a commonly used alcohol screening tool. |
| ED | Emergency Department. |
| Health Improvement and Prevention | includes approaches which look to reduce health problems or increase wellbeing in the future and potentially reduce need for services. |
| UEC | Urgent and Emergency Care settings, such as emergency departments (ED), trauma units, urgent care centres, minor injury units and walk in centres. |
| Wider determinants of health | a diverse range of social, economic, environmental factors which impact on people’s health |
| Risk factors | something that increases your chance of getting a disease |
| Teachable moment | an opportunity during an interaction with a patient that can be used to promote healthier lifestyle behaviours. |
