Moodle - delay with accessing documents at peak times

Moodle is currently experiencing exceptionally high demand at 9am, 10am, 11am and 1pm, when examination question papers are released. At these times there can be a delay when accessing files.

We are aware that users are keen to be able to access the papers the moment they become available and consequently, may be frequently refreshing Moodle (F5). The impact of this is that users inadvertently create a server load many times higher than normal.

Additional Moodle servers are in place to help with the high levels of demand. We have also rescheduled some examination paper releases to distribute the demand more evenly throughout the day.

If you are able to delay accessing Moodle by a few minutes, then you may be able to access the required documents much quicker.
