If you have your University Card, please make sure you bring it with you to scan in and out of our libraries, borrow books and use the printers.

How do I get my University Card?

If you don’t have your University Card, please take steps to order/collect this as soon as possible.

  • Once your card is ready for collection, you can book an appointment to collect this from the relevant Student Service Centre. You must have uploaded a photograph at least 10 working days before contacting your Student Service Centre to arrange collection.
  • If you are in Halls of Residence on University Park or Jubilee Campus your Card should be collected from your Hall
  • If you have lost your card, you can order a replacement online.

I don’t have my card but I want to visit the library

If you don’t have your University Card but wish to visit the library – please bring Photo/Student ID and your student ID number, if you know it.

Extended opening hours from 18 October

During our extended opening hours (10pm – 2am) you must visit the library earlier in the day to receive a temporary pass. It will not be possible to provide a temporary pass after 10pm.

After 10pm, you will need to show your temporary pass to be let in and out of the library. You will also need to show named ID (the MyNottingham app showing your name and Student ID details can also be accepted).

We recommend booking an appointment to collect your University Card as soon as possible.

I don’t have my card but I want to borrow books

If you don't have your University Card, please ask a member of staff for help with borrowing books. You will need to show ID and confirm the date you uploaded the photo for your card. We are unable to lend books to students who have not completed their University Card application.

We are only able to manually issue books during our standard opening hours and not extended opening (after 10pm).
