Key Elements of the Resources

GCSE
The resources aim to develop teacher pedagogy and subject knowledge. In doing so, teachers will learn strategies to promote dialogue in the classroom in a way that builds on students’ prior knowledge and motivates them to learn. The ultimate goal is to improve students’ GCSE results.

Within a three-stage structure of plan, teach and review, five lessons are collaboratively considered by a small group of teachers. A research theme is identified for each lesson. This relates to both the mathematics students will engage in and a specific aspect of dialogic learning.  The theme guides how the lesson is implemented and reviewed.

There are comprehensive resources to support the lead teacher facilitate the professional development sessions, and detailed lesson plans to help teach each lesson.
