• Biomarkers for infection in cystic fibrosis.
• Collaborative research with Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (studies on malaria and smoking in teenage children).
• Risk factors for anaemia in rural India.
• Research into the provision of more efficient delivery of healthcare with the Royal Derby Hospital.
