I chose to pursue a PhD in the Lifespan and Population Sciences academic unit as it allows me to develop my research ideas to address some clinical questions I encountered as a neonatal doctor.

My PhD explores the use of statistics and machine learning to analyse electronic healthcare data to predict outcomes in premature babies. During my PhD, I developed my critical thinking and gained data science skills while being supported by leading experts in neonatal medicine and artificial intelligence. I was also fortunate to collaborate with professional organisations and industrial partners. These transferable skills will enrich my medical career.
