Biography

I have a background in engineering with a focus on total quality management systems.

A new location led to a different role working in health informatics in 1995 across the community, acute and primary care sectors. I joined PRIMIS in school of medicine in 2002 as a learning consultant and am now a business implementation lead. This role includes:

  • Supporting PRIMIS commercial activities by identifying, negotiating and securing new business for the organisation overseeing the delivery process and fulfilling an account management role for customers.
  • providing consultancy services to local NHS organisations, undertaking diagnostics and providing tailored solutions to improve the quality of primary care data applying specialist knowledge of primary health care information management.

I have gained specialist knowledge and experience in clinical coding, training design and delivery, information management, data quality improvement, research support, data extraction and the analysis and interpretation of primary care information.

PRIMIS is a specialist team of health informaticians within the School of Medicine. We provide expert advice on the intelligent use of primary care data to the NHS, academics, and industry partners. Our work is not just about data, however. Our tools and training programmes support behavioral change in general practice, often involving the widespread scale and adoption of healthcare innovations.
