Doing a PhD at the University of Nottingham is not simply acquiring another qualification or learning a specific set of skills in a particular subject area. It is a journey towards academic independence which teaches you skills and abilities that go well beyond the subject of your thesis.

My PhD journey has taught me resilience, determination and problem-solving abilities that have opened doors for me both within and outside the academic world.
