University launches 3D OrbiSIMS at nmRC

Description
On Monday 14th January 2019 a launch event was held for the 3D OrbiSIMS, first-of-its-kind equipment to transform imaging of cells, tissues and materials. We celebrated the launch of the new 3D OrbiSIMS with a series of short talks on the exciting new science and technology associated with and enabled by the technique.

Want to see what's causing the hayfever? Dr Beth Steer collected an airborne sample of pollens at University of Nottingham and found various grasses: elm, pine, sedges and oak - all collected in under a few hours!

First Paper published by our LDMI DTP students

Sebastian Pfau has become the first of our EPSRC funded Low-Dimensional Materials & Interfaces Doctoral Training Partnership students to publish a scientific paper. It is entitled 'Comparative nanostructure analysis of gasoline turbocharged direct injection and diesel soot-in-oil with carbon black'. Congratulations, Sebastian!
