PRIMIS has been included in the NIHR Greater Manchester Primary Care Patient Safety Translational Research Centre (Greater Manchester PSTRC) Annual Report as an ‘industry link’.
You can find out more about the work of the Centre during its second year in the NIHR Greater Manchester PSTRC Year Two Annual Report.
The NIHR Greater Manchester PSTRC is a research centre based at the University of Manchester in partnership with Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Its research focuses specifically on patient safety issues in a primary care setting, which has been identified as a significantly under-researched area.
The Centre has four main research themes: Medication Safety, Multimorbidity, General Practice and Interface & Informatics, with an additional focus on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) research.
Greater Manchester PSTRC was involved in the original PINCER intervention project through its Medication Safety research theme (co-led by Prof Tony Avery, The University of Nottingham, and Prof Darren Ashcroft, The University of Manchester). PRIMIS' PINCER quality improvement tool was inititally developed to aid the research for the original PINCER trial.
Please find out more about the PRIMIS PINCER quality improvement tool online.
This tool is free to use, providing you are a member of PRIMIS Hub and have an up-to-date version of CHART installed. You can register for free membership online and find out how to obtain CHART here.
