PRIMIS has just launched a new audit tool, QOF Data Quality, which has been developed to improve practices' QOF achievements by ensuring that practice prevalence is correct and boosting achievement in difficult to obtain indicators.
This audit tool has the potential to generate your practice additional unclaimed income.
Through use of QOF Data Quality you can increase the value of your QOF points by identifying patients who may have been coded incorrectly (or in some cases not coded at all). You can then correctly code these patients, maximising your QOF points as well as patient care. Please visit the webpage for QOF Data Quality to see examples of how the asthma and AF indicators have helped real practices.
This audit tool covers the following nine clinical areas:
atrial fibrillation
peripheral arterial disease
cancer
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
coronary heart disease
hypertension
asthma
cervical screening
learning disabilities
This audit tool can help practices by:
generating lists of patients for the nine clinical areas (above) and providing relevant information to help clinicians to confirm or exclude diagnosis
helping to establish a more accurate prevalence rate within their practice population and ensure that all appropriate patients are included on the practice disease register
maximising QOF achievement and therefore payment under QOF
identifying patients with expired exception codes for review
identifying patients who may be missed from QOF registers (where non-QOF codes have been used)
Additional information and example tables outlining the QOF point improvements that were made within real practices following use of just two indicatior from this audit tool can be found on the QOF audit tool web page.
This audit tool is freely available to all full PRIMIS Hub members, via the 'check for updates' feature within CHART.
The audit tool can be purchased by all other PRIMIS Hub members at a cost of £100 +VAT.
This price is correct as of March 2016 and is a limited-time offer.
As part of this purchase you will receive a 10% discount on either one of our QOF training sessions.
*This audit tool is a precursor to a full QOF audit tool is being considered for released later this year. This full version would incorporate a full list of QOF indicators and would encompass the expected changes to the QOF (after 31st March 2016).
