Evidence Explorers
The ability to absorb information quickly from different written sources is a vital skill for education and life. And with the huge range of information available today, from books and newspapers to websites and social media, it is more important than ever for children to be able to assess how reliable different sources of knowledge are.
This fast-paced interactive session sets children the challenge of working out whether the (extremely cute) Asian mammal, the slow loris, would make a good pet! Your class will work in groups to quickly assess printed information, from universities’ and conservation organisations’ websites to Facebook Posts, to find out more about the loris and uncover some surprising facts!
They will then be tasked with presenting their findings, creating a balanced argument for and against keeping the slow loris as a pet.
