Students' Union
Become a course rep and get your voice heard
Your Students’ Union (SU) is at the heart of student life.
They are an independent, student-led organisation that represents your needs, protects your rights and, when it comes to making important decisions that affect you, makes sure your voice is heard. And as a University of Nottingham student, you’re already a valued and celebrated member of the SU.
From its home in the Portland Building, the SU works hard to make sure your university experience is the best it can be, from the day you arrive to the day you graduate. They’re here to make sure that you can experience a huge range of social, cultural, sporting, and recreational activities, make changes by standing up for what you believe in, and find support when you need a helping hand.
PsychoSoc
PsychoSoc gives you the opportunity to integrate into university and make new friends from all different years. We offer a variety of events such as:
- Welfare sessions for your physical and mental health
- Multiple social events to meet new people
- Sporting teams and events
- Charity fundraising
- Opportunity to hear alumni and guest speakers
- Extra academic events to give you a chance to expand your skillset
Becoming a member of PsychoSoc is the best way to meet like-minded people. You’ll get to make friends outside of your degree, have fun alongside your studies and discover a whole new network of people. We have several events planned throughout the year, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
There are many ways to get involved with our committee. Whether you’d like to share your opinions and ideas or take up a more active role in the society, we have something for everyone. Our committee roles are always open to those who want to fully immerse themselves in our society.
We would love to welcome you into the PsychoSoc family! Our community is full of opportunities to make unforgettable memories. We can’t wait for you to join us at our events and become part of our vibrant community. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Societies - get involved, have fun
You can join any of our diverse and vibrant societies. With over 200 societies and other student-run groups and services you can pursue your current passion or hobby, find a society or organisation specific to your degree such as languages, film and television, other cultures and countries such as America and Canada… or try something new? You might even want to start your own society.
Become a course representative
Course reps are a vital part of the student voice. Through gathering feedback from your peers, sitting in key meetings and by lobbying or campaigning for positive change, you can make a real difference to the academic experience of those on your course.
