8. Summing up

Nurse: OK then Joy, so as i say - if it is alright with you? I'm just going to sit and write a couple of bits.

Joy: Yes.

Nurse: Erm - I don't need to ask you any further questions. Just that we keep all our care plans on here (computer) and everything.

Joy: Oh - I see!

Nurse: So... yep, that's all I need to do.

Joy: Will I get a copy?

Nurse: You don't get a copy of the care plans, but we can just, well you know if you want to look at them, by all means you could do - erm but I suppose -you know - we can always print them off.

Nurse: ...Sometimes in actual fact we do if the services are coming in.

Joy: We will just see?

Nurse: Yeh, yeh. Erm, what is really good is that we all carry these laptops. It is a very good method of communication between all of the people that are coming in to see you, because it is not always going to be the same person.

Joy: No, no.

Nurse: ...and not everybody... say another nurse comes into see you in a couple of days time, they will see exactly what I have done.

Joy: Oh, that is good! You don't want crossed wires.

Nurse: ...No, exactly. So erm... right that is fine I have done that know then. i'm just going to close this down and then I'm ready to go then, unless you have got any questions?

Joy: Oh, it has been lovely.

Nurse: It has been lovely, hasn't it!

Joy: Everything should be fine and if the leg goes on well, I'll be well!

Nurse: Brilliant - Brilliant! So I will get the thing sorted that we talked about...

Joy: Yes, yes..

Nurse: ...and we will be back to see you in a couple of days.

Joy: Ok!

Nurse: Am I erm, do you want me to just pull the door behind me?

Joy: Do you want me to come to the door with you?

Nurse: Are you sure? Lovely - Well it has been very nice to meet you Joy.

Joy: ..and you?

Nurse: Take care of yourself.

Joy: ..Yes

Nurse: ...and hopefully, I will see you later on in the week?

Joy: ..Oh!

Nurse: Can you manage alright?

Joy: Oh, this week?

Nurse: Yes, yes...

Joy: Oh, that is good.

Nurse: Yes, it will be in a couple of days time.

Joy: Splendid, splendid.

Nurse: If there is anything you can think of that you need to ask me in the meantime, please do so?

Joy: You have left the numbers!

Nurse: ... and I have left the numbers, I have just left them on the side there (pointing at sideboard).

Joy: Brilliant - brilliant - OK, well very nice!

Nurse: ... Thankyou!
