Disability Recognition Month in Libraries

Description
Join us in celebrating Disability Recognition Month from 14 November - 20 December, we've got a fantastic reading list and we'll be expanding our collection with your book suggestions.

Three libraries open 24/7 from Monday 4 November

Description
Our libraries are here to support you, so whether you're an early riser or a night owl you'll find a 24/7 library on each campus to study at a time that suits you. George Green Library, James Cameron-Gifford and Djanogly LRC are open 24/7 from Monday 4 November until Thursday 12 December.

Remember to bring your university card to access libraries

Description
From Monday 21 October you will need your university card to access libraries. If you forget your card you can use the MyNottingham app, simply show staff your username via the username tile to gain entry.

Last entry to the library is 15 minutes before the advertised library closing time. Library closing procedures are announced by tannoy.

Help and support

Library essentials

  • Bring your University Card or Library Card for entrance. What if I forget my card?
  • If you are NUH Trust staff and require library membership please email library@nuh.nhs.uk
  • Hot food should be eaten outside the library.
  • Please don't leave your belongings unattended, keep them with you at all times.
  • Smoking and vaping is prohibited in all university buildings, including libraries.
  • University policy prohibits bicycles and scooters being brought into all buildings, including libraries.

What's available in the library?

Facilities and study space

Browse the library and book locations using the interactive map.

The following services are available in the library:

  • Assistive Technology Room
  • Book returns box - outside the library entrance
  • Click and Collect - request items on NUsearch for collection from the library's reservations shelf
  • Help desk - staff are available to help with any queries
  • Headphones (with microphone) - available to borrow for up to three hours. Please ask Library staff.
  • Laptop loans - for up to 24 hours, please ask Library staff -  - make sure to login to laptops before taking them off-campus
  • Print, copy and scan - print from any university PC or use mobile print
  • Self-service machines - borrow and return books
  • Study space - including individual, silent and group study space (book in advance or drop-in)
  • Wellbeing notice board - useful information about unviersity support services

The nearest Multi-Faith Centre (including Chapel, Mosque Mandir, Gurdwara and Synagogue) can be found in D18 on D Floor (East Block) of the QMC. View a map of D Floor

Greenfield Medical Library is home to subject resources for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences as well as titles from our leisure reading collection.

Access

Access to the library is via the Main Entrance or Car Park entrance.

If accessing the library via the Car Park entrance, access is by University Card only after 6.30pm on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Greenfield Medical Library has:

  • door access via ramp to front door of Medical School
  • accessible unisex WC
  • low level service point
  • Hearing Loop situated at reception desk
