Study at the Centre for Additive Manufacturing

The reseach expertise of the Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM) at University of Nottingham is focussed on both single materials and multi-material multifunctional additive manufacturing. The research approach at CfAM is user-centred and scientifically driven, and it covers an extensive range of processes, materials, methods and applications.

Students at the Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM) will have the opportunity to explore the fundamental processes, materials, and computational methods essential for the successful execution and implementation of Additive Manufacturing (AM) as a viable manufacturing tool.

By joining the Centre for Additive Manufacturing, students will have opportunities to engage in both fundamental and applied research. Our research group members has expertise in several key areas:

  • Design systems and optimisation methodologies
  • Additive Manufacturing processes
  • Materials development for uses in AM
  • AM business management
  • Applications demanded by the user community
