Discovery Days: Chinese New Year
Explore Chinese language and culture!
Pupils will take part in a language taster session introducing some interesting aspects of Chinese culture and basic expressions such as how to introduce themselves, and how to say thank you and goodbye. They will also learn how to count numbers 1-10 in Mandarin through interactive games.
Pupils will also make lanterns to celebrate China’s lantern festival, the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration period. They will be given a step-by-step demonstration to make lanterns and will use their imagination to decorate them. The pupils will be able to take these home.
In partnership with The Nottingham Confucius Institute.
