Research bioenergy in the Nottingham BBSRC DTP

Bioenergy is a renewable form of energy generated from materials derived from biological sources. Research will include studies into improving growth rates and altered composition of biological material for biofuel production, as well as researching issues associated with logistics and scale of production. Further research areas include development of enabling technologies such as genetically modified microbes, the use of alternative feedstocks, growth and development of biomass crops and replacement of fossil-fuels with plant oils.
