go! Greener halls competition is back

The go! Greener Halls Competition is back!

Each hall of residence is competing against each other the other to be the most sustainable. Last semester the competition focused on energy but this semester we’re focusing on waste and the hall who can reduce their landfill waste and increase their recycling the most will receive a prize. Help your hall win by Recycling right!

We’re facing a climate emergency and we need to slash the university’s CO2 emissions. We can do it if we work together. On average, our on-campus halls account for over 4.8 million kg of CO2 each year. Per student, that’s almost equivalent to flying from London to New York! You can make a difference.

Competition Details: Running from 1 February to the 17 of March, the go! Greener Halls Competition encompasses all catered halls on campus and Melton Hall.

How can you get involved?

Here are some simple steps to get started:

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle: Make conscious efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle in your daily life. We will be sharing useful tips to help you in achieving this.

Spread the Word: Encourage your friends and hallmates to join the cause. Together, we can make a difference.

Stay Informed: Keep an eye out for updates and resources. We're here to support your journey towards sustainability.

Your actions can lead your hall to exciting prizes!

By participating in the go! Greener Halls Competition, you not only contribute to a more sustainable future but also become a catalyst for positive change.
