Seminars

Industrial Partner Seminar Series

The technologies incorporated in the Creative Energy Homes will be presented by invited industry experts working with us on the Project.

Details of past and forthcoming events are shown below:

GGBS Concrete

Thursday 15th March 2007: CEH Industrial Partner Seminar, SRB at 1pm
"The global average of the amount of CO2 produced per 1 tonne of Portland cement manufactured is also about 1 tonne and this equates to about 7% of global CO2 emissions."

An alternative to Portland cement was used during the construction of the Stoneguard C60 Research House here at the SBE. Alex Honey & Graham Parnell (of Civil + Marine, Hanson Group) have over 50 years of experience of the ready mixed concrete and cement industries and hope to give you enlightening (if not entertaining) talk on sustainable alternatives in concrete and also on concrete in general.

23rd November 2006: The Stern Report, and the role of an Advanced Modern Method of Construction in meeting the Stern Report - 23rd November 2006. The PDF of this talk is now available on the CEH Website.

LOGIX UK will be presenting a summary of the findings of the Sir Nicholas Stern Report, Nov 2006, and then go on to demonstrate an advanced method of build, satisfying modern thermal and air-tightness requirements, quickly, easily, and in line with building regulations and approved documents for walls and basements. This lecture and practical demonstration will be led by Jonathon Barnett MIEE, BEng (Hons), General Manager of LOGIX UK, who will be supported by his qualified team.
