Congratulations to Jen Birks, whose article ‘Moving life stories tell us just why politics matters’: Personal narratives in tabloid anti-austerity campaigns' in the journal Journalism has just appeared online. It is an analysis of the progressive use of human interest stories in tabloid newspaper campaigns against the 'bedroom tax' and other benefits cuts, despite being seen as a reactionary format.
