IPD Species Competition

Jiawei (Michael) Li and Graham Kendall were announced as the winners of the Iterated Prisoners Dilemma (IPD) Species Competition at the Congress on Evolutionary Computation conference (18-23 July 2010, Barcelona, Spain).

The aim of the competition was to submit an IPD agent that competed for survival in a population of other agents. The entry submitted by Jiawei and Graham was based on the previous winning entry by Jiawei that won the IPD competition that was run a few years ago to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the competitions organised by Robert Axelrod around 1986.

Jiawei and Graham are now planning a journal paper based on the success of their agent. They are also hoping that another competition will be run so that they can further improve their agent.
