Local school pupils celebrate the Year of the Dragon with NCI

Nottingham welcomes the Year of the Dragon with traditional brush painting

Description
Over the past four weeks, more than 200 participants took part in brush painting sessions funded by Nottingham Confucius Institute as part of our Year of the Dragon celebrations. They were led by local artist Feng-Ru Lee and took place at Lakeside Arts and King's Meadow Campus.

NCI Autumn Term Mandarin Corner closes in style

Description
Friday 24 November saw over 40 UoN staff, students and local residents come together for the last NCI Mandarin Corner event of the autumn term. The theme of the session was Chinese music and it began with a brief introduction to a variety of traditional Chinese musical instruments including bamboo flute, xun, hulusi, suona and guzheng, followed by some excellent performances by University of Nottingham student musicians.

NCI holds 15th "China and Me" Mandarin Speech Contest

Description
Saturday 11th November saw seven candidates demonstrate their Mandarin skills in front of a panel of judges and over 30 spectators at the 15th "China and Me" Speech Competition at the Si Yuan Centre. The candidates included one staff member and six UoN students.
