Description: Nottingham Confucius Institute celebrated UN Chinese Language Day in style with a series of events including fan painting workshops, calligraphy and language taster sessions and a book exhibition from 19-22 April.

Description: Jointly funded by Nottingham Confucius Institute and Arts Council England, "Moon Rabbit and Other Stories from China" successfully toured across Nottingham from 28 January to 16 February. A total of 30 performances were held at Lakeside Arts Djanogly Theatre, six libraries, six primary schools and two special education needs schools during the three-week period, reaching over 2,500 children and their families!

Description: 2022's autumn term Mandarin programme closed in style on Saturday 10th December with a showcase party organised by Nottingham Confucius Institute (NCI). The party was attended by over forty group and private one-to-one students, staff and volunteers.

Description: The evening of Friday 2 December saw over 50 University staff, students and local residents take part in the last Mandarin Corner event of the year at the Si Yuan Centre, home to Nottingham Confucius Institute.

Description: Friday 4 November saw over 60 Nottingham staff, students and local residents take part in the first Mandarin Corner of the Autumn term at the Si Yuan Centre, home to Nottingham Confucius Institute. This was the first in-person Mandarin Corner event since Covid started nearly three years ago. It was great to see people get together and bond over mahjong, chess and other Chinese board games.

Description: Nine Nottingham students and alumni from across the University demonstrated their Mandarin skills at the 14th "China and Me" Speech Competition on Saturday 12th November at the Si Yuan Centre. After holding the event online for the past two years because of Covid, it was great to welcome contestants back to our premises to showcase their language talent in person in front of a lively audience!
