Our research focuses on the pedagogical theory and practice of teaching and learning mathematics in higher education. We devise, implement and rigorously evaluate innovative pedagogical ideas, based on the latest educational research, with the aim of improving the teaching and learning of mathematics both within the School of Mathematical Sciences and externally.
We also explore how the learning outcomes, assessment and curriculum of a mathematics programme can prepare students for research and employment. Our research links to the education initiatives of the IMA, RSS and LMS as well as education researchers in related STEM disciplines.
