Wave Modelling

Wave Modelling has now developed into a solid and interdisciplinary area in Applied Mathematics. Still, the propagation of waves within complex Engineering systems continue to pose new and exciting challenges in the understanding of wave phenomena.

The activity of this Research Theme pertains the cutting-edge numerical solution of linear and non-linear wave equations in quantum mechanics, vibro-acoustics and electromagnetics. The methods used include random matrix theory, quantum graphs, dynamical system theory and chaos. The applications are rooted in industry-driven and future emerging technologies, all tackled via collaborative research with the Departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.
