The Sustainability Team
The Sustainability Team are responsible for developing and advancing the university's sustainability ambition and work with colleagues across teaching, research and operations to embed the Sustainable Development Goals in all that we do.
The work of the team is supported and championed by the Environmental Sustainability Committee, chaired by University Executive Board member Professor Tom Rodden.

Responsible for providing strategic direction to the university on environmental and social responsibility.
Responsible for managing the university's energy and water consumption and Building Management System, and developing projects to reduce carbon emissions.
Responsible for waste management, sustainable travel initiatives, staff and student engagement on sustainability, biodiversity, EcoCampus management system and sustainability in labs.
Responsible for managing and maintaining the university's outdoor spaces - including formal gardens, sports grounds, water features and woodlands - and enhancing the biodiversity of our campuses.
